Questions
Critical questions for developing reasoning for and in practice in Phase II:
- What point of intervention would be most effective in bringing about change?
- Who would the primary beneficiaries of the campaign be?
- Once you have selected an occupational focus and supporting theories, consider which part of the theory (/ies) you are focusing on. Discuss this with peers and identify what additional theory you may require.
- What strategies will you apply to effect your campaign?
- Which theories are your strategies based on and how do these link with the theoretical approach which you have adopted to the intervention?
- How will your intervention confront/challenge oppressive power relationships? Select strategies and designs that enable this.
- Which networks could you draw on to mobilise the resources necessary for the campaign?
- How is your campaign embedded within the context?
- What mechanism can you put in place that sustains the longevity of the outcomes?
- b) Consider how your identity as a member of a prestigious university and profession influence your relationships and what privileges you may have.
- c) What strategies may you have to apply to prepare and allow yourself to engage authentically and equally in this context.
- What theories, beliefs, assumptions and experiences inform your conceptualization of the possibilities for change? Are there theoretical perspectives or alternate assumptions that you have not considered?
- What skills will you draw on or develop in order to successfully contribute in this context? What partnerships could you form to assist you with this process?
