Occupation Based Community Development Framework

Campaign as a form of intervention

A campaign is a form of intervention, implemented with a population of people, that is focused on intervening into a problem identified to be of importance from the perspective of all key role players who have a stake in the resolution of the problem. It employs strategies that involve some or all of the key role players in taking strategic actions that involve counter-hegemonic ways of “doing” in daily life.

The evolution of practice at Facing up has resulted in the emergence of occupation-based campaigns as a method of engaging young people. While the practice at Facing Up has been with young people, the purpose behind, principles of and lessons learnt through the practice, may be applied in work with diverse groups of people.
