Helping you manage stress
Many jobs are stressful, but those in front line health services are often under more stress than others. Studies have shown that work stresses can cause illness or result in leaving jobs. These stresses are often not recognised at work.
You are a vital part of our services. We know that your job can be difficult, and we want to try and help you to manage the stresses of the work environment. We have information to share on topics like trauma, burnout, compassion fatigue and resilience. We can give you tools to help you look at your own thoughts and behaviours at work and help you to manage the daily stresses that you feel. Try to think of this as a process that takes time. Some ideas may work well for you and you might find others difficult and will need more practise. Don’t give up!
The physical and emotional health of the health professional is as important as the well-being of children. We hope that you will be given ideas to help you care for yourselves and for others! Why not start today by doing one caring thing for yourself? Notice how it feels to greet a colleague warmly.
