Faculty of Health Sciences postgraduate office

International students

International students may contact IAPO (International Academic Programmes Office) for support around matters pertaining to administration around being an international student at UCT. They have a helpful page on what to do "Before you arrive"; which takes you through accepting your study offer, paying fees & preparing the necessary documentation. Please note the PG Diploma in Community and General Paediatrics is fully online (no need to come to Cape Town).

The 2025 fee information handbook has not yet been released: see Student Fees (Handbook 8b, 2024) on this website ( Handbooks | University of Cape Town (uct.ac.za) ) for the most recent fee information.

Applications & technical help

Applications: apply online here. Note: applications for 2025 are due before 31 October 2024.

For general technical help visit ICTS (Information and Communication Technology Services).

For help in changing your password, go here or you can go directly to the self-service option.

To log into Peoplesoft, go here. Students can view & manage their administration via Peoplesoft, including:

  • Change of curriculum applications
  • Leave of absence (LOA) applications
  • Registration applications
  • Thesis/dissertation-related matters
  • International student pre-registration applications

Amathuba is UCT's learning management system. Every PGDip course will have its own Amathuba site. Once you register as a student, you will be added to each site. Each site will contain a course outline, contact details for the course convener & all the course materials (readings, presentations, recorded lectures, discussion forums, etc.) Students will also submit their assignments via Amathuba.
