About the Author
I am an Audiologist working as a Senior Clinical Educator within the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Cape Town. I have been working in higher education for the past 6 years and facilitate a number of hearing aid clinics with my third and final year Audiology students. I have a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge.
I created these videos as I supervise mostly in clinical settings where I have limited time for teaching. It is difficult to teach students how to use equipment while I am on site and I found that their academic lectures did not always adequately prepare them to be able to do these tests when they arrived at the clinic. I have found that videos are an excellent preparation tool for my students who can watch and learn and practice these tests before completing the tests with clients.
I have decided to share these videos on open access as I believe that they might be of value to educators elsewhere who also want to help their students to have valuable clinical experiences. I hope that you find them useful.
