Growing Disability Studies in Africa
The Disability Studies Division in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in Faculty of health Sciences seeks to be the centre of critical interdisciplinary research, teaching and social responsiveness. We focus on developing leadership capacity to monitor disability inclusion in policy processes, particularly implementation. The poster presents the postgraduate programmes, research focus areas and challenges faced in realising our vision. The other three posters illustrate some of the current research that has relevance for building collaboration with higher education institutions in Africa to build capacity for disability inclusion in development challenges.
