Faculties offer limited live training to students. All students are expected to take responsibility for improving their computer skills by using these self-training courses in their own time. This is necessary to cope with course requirements. Staff and postgraduate students can in addition attend live courses offered by ICTS (see the ICTS website for further information).
There are a number of distinct advantages to using the online resources:
The LearnOnline resources will allow you to train yourself properly, in a structured manner. They will provide enough for you to accomplish a great deal of what is required for your studies, and will also provide skills that will serve you as you develop your career.
With LearnOnline, you train at the times that you decide upon. You may also at any time, return to a module and pick up where you left off. For the same reason, if you have forgotten how to do something that you were taught some time ago, you can easily revise the work again.
With LearnOnline, you can learn what you need to learn. You can choose to learn a particular application thoroughly by working through the whole module. Alternatively, you can do only one lesson on exactly what you want to learn at that moment. Pre-assessment tests are meant to help you identify your learning needs so you are able to plan accordingly.
You don’t have to go with the pace of a group; with LearnOnline, you proceed at your own pace, slowing down and speeding up as you see fit. In addition, you can repeat sections of the modules, as per your needs.
