Introduction
Welcome to the Tutor Orientation site!
Purpose of site
Tutors play a key role in providing contact between the teaching team and students on a day-to-day basis. In an online teaching and learning context, your role as a tutor has become even more essential in providing support to students. With this in mind, this site has been designed to provide tutors with information on how to use Vula’s internal capacities and external tools for effective communication and student engagement. There is also a range of tips and advice on solving some common problems which arise in the remote teaching context.
How to use this site
Broad topics are listed on the left menu, which expands to subtopics. Each topic is briefly introduced, followed by a practical guide (‘how to’ information) and key points to consider. Helpful tips have also been included - please note these are suggestions and you will need to adapt these for your own course, department and faculty. A glossary of Vula tools and some terminology used has been added for a quick overview.
