OBJECTIVES

By the end of this module, you should be familiar with:
  • the circumstances under which Tuberculosis is considered an occupational disease in SA;
  • the importance of tuberculosis control programmes in occupational health, with particular emphasis on the SA mining industry;
  • some of the distinguishing features of silicosis and tuberculosis as seen radiologically.
