Activity 4.2 Dealing with diversity (Tue-Wed)

Our identities are complex, so we will always be able to identify differences and similarities in other people. Sometimes this feels difficult to manage as online facilitators, but access to a range of different perspectives can provide richer insights and deeper learning within a course or learning community.

Purpose: Developing skills to value and deal with diversity in online learning events

Task:

  1. Read the article by Jeanne Smuts external link: 'Why diversity matters'.
  2. Join the discussion in the Dealing with Diversity topic about the article on diversity in an online learning community. This will be facilitated by a participant in this course with the support of the course leader in a coaching role.
