PLH VS PBI:
There may be great confusion when you compare PLH and PBI values with each other. Let’s presume that these 2 baseline tests were also the findings of a diagnostic audiogram dated 14 October 2003. We now have the following scenario:
Diagnostic 1 : PLH = 9,6 PBI = 2,5 (best PLH, but worse PBI)
Diagnostic 2: PLH = 10,7 PBI = 1,3 (Worse PLH, but best PBI).
The employee is not compensatable because the PBI=1,3 on diagnostic 2 – it is therefore regarded as the best audiogram in terms of CI 168. Diagnostic 1 should however be used as the future baseline, because it has the lowest PLH (9,7) in terms of CI 171.
