PRACTICUM 3: TASKS FOR FACTORY AUDIT

THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE FACTORY AUDIT ACCORDING TO DR GREG KEW:

Audits are generally tough to do properly during the DOH - don't stress, I know this! There is generally too little time to do it properly. Therefore, focus on the things that matter - my expectations are in the attached document. In summary, they include:

  1. To be conversant with audit procedure & protocol (understanding audit scope, pre-audit communication, and generally setting things up).
  2. Dealing with a real on-site audit, and learning how to read the hidden messages that lie in the responses from the audited person (thats where the gaps are!)
  3. Learning from actually doing an audit (many of the questions will probably challenge your own understanding, so use the opportunity to learn (we all do!)).
  4. Learning how to summarise the key findings & provide coherent feedback.

Decide who is going to correspond with the contact person, and who will do what on the day
(usually there are roles for different team members, interviewing different people from the checklist, and performing the verifications
- but in this exercise, you will probably all sit in on the interview.
So go ahead & contact the person to be audited, and set things up.

Each of the 4 factory visit groups will get a different factory contact person. For example:

RESOURCE DOCUMENTS FOR THE AUDIT

  2. Explanatory notes on how to conduct an audit
  3. Audit scoring sheet
