STEP 3: 4-STEP PROJECT

DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS

Data Collection and Analysis

Should be a small dataset e.g in the above example the lab has 20 staff members. It does not matter if there are limitations as long as these are identified. The data collected could be related to exposure, effects, or both.

EXAMPLE 1   SHOWS HOW EXPOSURE, OUTCOME AND CONFOUNDING VARIABLES CAN BE ANALYSED

EXAMPLE 2 IS FROM A PREVIOUS DOH PROJECT  ON NEEDLE INJURIES IN MACHINISTS IN  GARMENT WORKERS.  The aims and objectives of this project are outlined here.

You will be expected to hand in
a) A description of how you went about collecting your data (not more than a couple of pages).

b) Analysis of your data to include description of the variables you have used and any associations between exposures and outcomes if appropriate. (you can copy tables from STATA into a word document and the results should not be more than 5 or 6 pages)

Just follow the examples and produce versions that are as concise as possible.
