Module 4: Metals And The Lung - Objectives and Activities

OBJECTIVES

By the end of this module, you should:
  1. Understand the different ways in which inhalation of metal compounds can damage the lung;
  2. Be able to list the more important metals that are toxic to the lung and briefly describe their specific effects;
  3. Have an approach to the clinical investigation of metal induced respiratory tract disease.

ACTIVITIES:

  1. Background: Revise your notes and reading on metals (block 4) and
    of the terminology of respiratory disease (blocks 4 and 5).
  2. Read the chapter by  Nemery.

There are no exercises, but discussion will take place via WebCT.
