OBJECTIVES

By the end of this module, you should:
  1. be familiar with the Occupational Diseases in Mines and Works Act in general;
  2. know who qualifies for compensation under the ODMWA;
  3. know how to assess a patient for compensation, what information to provide to submit a claim and to complete the appropriate forms accurately;
  4. be familiar with the different stages in the compensation process, the potential pitfalls and advise your clients accordingly.
