NRF Call for Applications

Knowledge, Interchange and Collaboration (KIC)

Scientific Events / Travel Grants

Please direct all queries to Tamlyn Mawa (at researchfunding@uct.ac.za; tel 021 406 2432).

UCT’s internal closing date: Tuesday, 23 July 2013

The KIC awards are divided into two categories:

Travel Grants for Individual Researchers: The applicants in this category are individual researchers traveling either locally, internationally, or hosting a foreign researcher, who need support towards local or international travel related to research activities, with a clear indication of an appropriate output emanating from the support.

Support for Participation in Scientific Events: The applicants in this category are usually scientific event organisers or hosts (conferences, seminars, workshops, colloquia, congresses, symposia etc.) requesting funding to support travel and accommodation costs of relevant international participants in locally organised events.

WHO MAY APPLY?

UCT researchers who are full-time employees or on fixed-term contracts are eligible to apply.  All applicants must be in possession of at least a Master’s degree.  Students are not eligible to apply, but student involvement in local events is highly encouraged by the NRF.
